Our First Store Was Located On Federal Hill in Providence, RI
Ardente’s first location was opened by Genaro, Alfred, Arthur, Raymond Jr., Ester, Anna & Ernest Ardente with help from their father Raymond Sr., who valued one thing above all else; family. As was the Italian tradition, Raymond Sr. raised eight children, seven of whom decided to start Ardente Supply Company together because of their shared passion for family, hard work, and Entrepreneurship. This Federal Hill location was open from 1946 to 1950, when the store moved from Federal Hill to the current corporate headquarters and location on Valley street in Providence, Rhode Island. The business then added a location in Woonsocket in 1959. Raymond Sr.’s grandchildren and Ernest’s children, Paul, Mark, Bruce, and Evan then led the expansion to a new location in Westerly, Rhode Island.
We Expanded
and Opened WaterSpot
Raymond Sr.’s grandchildren Paul, Evan, Mark, and Bruce didn’t stop the growth and expansion of the Ardente brand with Westerly. They decided to acquire Thompson Durkee, a plumbing supply company based out of Boston, Massachusetts. With this acquisition came WaterSpot, a high-end showroom that sells everything from lighting, to toilets, to hardware, and vanities. Since then, Ardente and Waterspot opened locations in Boston, Braintree, and Natick, Massachusetts.
The Rest Is History.
Ardente Supply Company and WaterSpot are both still run and owned by Raymond Sr.’s grandchildren, Paul, Mark, Evan, And Bruce to this day. These four brothers share the same values as their grandfather; the importance of family, providing excellent service, and the value of a hard days work.
